Campaign Priorities

Together, we are transforming learning

After 60 years of training and educating the next generation, North Central Michigan College’s AD/CL building remains one of the most important structures on campus. This aging building is sound, yet it is in need of renovations and technology upgrades. The capital project at North Central will use advanced technology and collaborative learning classrooms to develop student proficiencies in 21st century skills, to support innovative teaching and learning and to ultimately insure that our students master the full range of what they need to learn to succeed.

Technology

Technology must be used purposefully to support students in mastering core subjects. With more than 150 classes taught in the main classroom building each week, it is the most important classroom facility on campus. Every student in every degree program takes courses within the walls of this building.  This project will renovate our classrooms to reflect new and emerging technologies and teaching methods to better prepare students for the increasingly technical workplace of the future.  It will raise the quality of available instruction methods, thereby, increasing our students’ capacity to learn.

THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

We will focus on what students need to learn – and on how to create an exciting, engaging learning environment that delivers results. The capital project at North Central will use advanced technology and collaborative learning classrooms to develop student proficiencies in 21st century skills, to support innovative teaching and learning and to ultimately insure that our students master the full range of what they need to learn to succeed.

SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS

In addition, all of the resources provided by student services will also be available in the newly-renovated building, providing a one-stop-shop for students with financial aid, advising, counseling and more.
