Associate Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Commitment to the community college mission, with the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in an effective, professional and tactful manner.  Ability to handle multiple priorities and proficient in e-mail communication, Windows environment, internet applications and Microsoft Office.  Has the ability to work independently and a strong customer service orientation.

The Outreach and Engagement Specialist will provide support for the Director of Student Outreach and Engagement.  Updating databases and preparing reports as required by the institution and state.  Assisting with North Central Now! (Early College, Dual Enrollment, Concurrent Enrollment) coordinating activities/events and maintaining up to date policy and procedures.  This is a 20 hour/week position with some evenings required.

Master’s degree in a teaching discipline associated with the division; evidence of teaching competence, to include at least three years teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably in a community college; knowledge of adult learning theory, to include pedagogical assessment techniques appropriate to curricular areas associated with the division; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and knowledge of and commitment to the community college mission.

Provides management and direction to all assigned activities within the academic division.  Supervises, evaluates, recognizes, disciplines and develops departmental faculty and staff in accordance with North Central Michigan College’s objectives, goals, policies, procedures and practices.  Conducts self in a professional manner promoting statesmanship with subordinate employees, other managers, faculty and other employees, students, local community members, and related representatives and visitors.
