Vaccine Research Around the World

           North Central Michigan College will present an international lecture on Thursday, September 20 at 7 p.m. on vaccine research around the world.  The lecture by Dr. Anna Durbin will be held in Room 312 in the Health Education and Science Center on the Petoskey campus.  This lecture is free and open to the public.

            Dr. Anna Durbin is an infectious disease specialist in Baltimore, Maryland and is affiliated with Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Durbin is studying the immunopathogenesis of dengue infection and disease. She will talk about her research involving the evaluation of experimental vaccines, particularly for mosquito-transmitted diseases like dengue fever, malaria and zika virus vaccines around the world. 
            Dr. Durbin received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. She is one of 54 doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital who specialize in Infectious Disease.
