DR. PETER OLSON WINS GRAND PRIZE FOR WRITING

 

Dr. Peter Olson, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success at North Central Michigan College, recently won the Grand Prize for Writing from the Mackinac Arts Council at a special event, Thoreau at Mackinac, commemorating Henry David Thoreau’s 200th birthday and his 1861 visit to Mackinac Island.

The essay, entitled “Walking among the Stars with Henry Thoreau on Mackinac Island,” will be included in the forthcoming book Thoreau at Mackinac:  an Anthology of Writings by Henry David Thoreau with poetry and prose from Mackinac Island.
