NCMC Foundation

The mission of the North Central Michigan College Foundation is to initiate philanthropy in partnership with North Central Michigan College and the community in order to provide financial support for the mission and goals of the college.

Scholarships

Donations to the NCMC Foundation change students' lives in strikingly positive ways. Foundation scholarships help qualifying students begin and continue their college education. Foundation support is helping North Central create a modern, state-of-the-art learning environment.

Abby Sydow

Abby Sydow

Abby Sydow of Brutus is studying to become a registered nurse at North Central. She plans to attend the University of Michigan after graduation and obtain her BSN degree. "I've wanted to be a nurse since I was 10 years old," she said. With the help of the Dr. James Keith Memorial Scholarship, Abby will graduate in May of 2013.

After graduating from Pellston High School in 2008, Abby chose North Central because she knew the college had an excellent nursing program. "I wasnt a great student in high school, but the smaller classroom size and personal connection to the faculty had made for a quality learning experience," Abby said.

Tyler Orr

Tyler Orr

Tyler Orr graduated from Cheboygan High School in 2012 as the valedictorian of his class. With the help of the Presidential Scholarship, he plans to graduate from North Central in two years and transfer to a university to study art.

"Attending North Central seemed like a logical choice because I knew I would get a quality education and all my credits would transfer," Tyler said.

Tyler says he's impressed with how easy it is to communicate with his professors and that they are genuinely interested in his success as a student. "My instructors expect me to work for my grades, but the personal attention makes it easier to focus on my studies," he said.
