Q: I received an invitation to the "Presidential Reception" what is it far
and how much does it cost?
A: The Presidential Reception will be hosted immediately after the
commencement ceremony is over. The reception is free and is designed to
honor you for your achievement, your guests are welcome to attend also.
Q: How long will the commencement ceremony be?
A: The commencement ceremony will last for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Q: Am I on the list to graduate?
A: If you have received an initial graduation approval letter from Naomi DeWinter, you are on the list to graduate.
Q: How many guests may I bring?
A: There is no limit on the number of guests you can invite to the commencement exercises. Special handicap seating will be available.

Q: Where do I get my cap and gown?
A: Graduation attire is available in the Campus Store or at Grad Fest 08 on March 10th and 11th.
Q: How much do the cap and gown cost?
A: The cost of your cap and gown is included in the graduation fee.
Q: What is the graduation fee?
A: The graduation fee is $25.00 and covers the cost of your diploma, diploma cover, cap, gown, and honor cords (if applicable), and all administrative and processing costs.

Q: When is rehearsal?
A: Rehearsal will be held on Friday, May 9 th @ 10:00 a.m. in the SCRC Auditorium. At rehearsal you will receive information about what to expect at the Commencement ceremony.
Q: Will a professional photographer be available?
A: There will not be a professional photographer available at the graduation ceremony.

Q: I am graduating with honors, how do I get the cords?
A: Honor cords will be passed out at the graduation ceremony. The cost is included in the graduation fee.
Q: I am close to receiving honors. What are the requirements for receiving them at graduation?
A: Students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have taken 40 semester credit hours or more at North Central will be awarded honors at the graduation ceremony. Honors status may be changed based on the final cumulative grade point average.

Q: I am a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honors Society. How do I receive my stole and other PTK paraphernalia?
A: PTK stoles will be passed out to students on the Phi Theta Kappa list.
Q: One of my guests is hearing impaired, are there any special accommodations available?
A: Four hearing assistance devices are available for use at the commencement ceremony. Contact Wendy Fought in the Registrar’s Office for details.
