Graduation Steps
Follow the steps below to complete your educational experience at North Central Michigan College. The commencement ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 9th, 2008 at the Student Resource Community Center on North Central’s main campus located in Petoskey, Michigan.
Step One: Submit Graduation Application
Complete a graduation application for the semester in which you wish to be considered. The application can be picked up in Student Services, downloaded from the web, or at any of the off campus offices. Minimum requirements for earning an Associate Degree are 60 credit hours and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
Semester: Fall 2007
Deadline Date: December 9, 2007
Winter 2008 March 21, 2008
Summer 2008 July 18, 2008
Applications received after the deadline date will be evaluated for graduation, however, they may not appear in graduation publications or announcements.
A Graduation fee of $25.00 will be charged to your account and covers the cost of your diploma, diploma cover, cap, gown and honor cords (if applicable) and all administrative and processing costs.
Step Two: Pick Up Your Cap and Gown
Caps and gowns will be available at Grad Fest ’08 which will be held in the main classroom building lobby on March 10th and 11th or in the Campus Store after this event.
Step Three: Invite Your Guests
The number of guests you invite is unlimited! Special handicap seating will be available.
Step Four: Attend Rehearsal for Commencement
Rehearsal will be held in the Student and Community Resource Center on campus at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9th, 2008. At rehearsal you will receive information about what to expect at the ceremony. If you are graduating with honors or a member or PTK, honor cords and PTK stoles will be passed out at the graduation ceremony.
Step Five: Attend Graduation Ceremony
Arrive in your cap and gown at the Student and Community Resource Center by 6:30 p.m. on May 9th, 2008. Enjoy your moment of recognition from our college community. You will receive your diploma cover at commencement with your actual diploma to arrive 6-8 weeks later in the mail.
