Hemingway Pre-Conference Reception
Yes, I would like to register for the Pre-Conference reception at historic Windemere.
Windemere is a National Historic Landmark as designated by the U.S. Department of Interior and the boyhood summer cottage of Ernest Hemingway.
Windemere is located on the shores of Walloon Lake outside of Petoskey, Michigan. It was and is the summer home of the Hemingway family and is still owned by Ernest Hemingway’s nephew. The Hemingway family came to Walloon Lake in 1898. They purchased a piece of property on the north shore with birches and cedars surrounding a sandy beach that formed a bay. This was the location the Hemingway family chose to build their summer cottage.
