Learning is a Full-Body experience
Check this out. Walk down to the natural area and watch a team from the biology lab collect bug specimens. Wander over to the Writing Center and observe professors and students huddled around a computer debating the merits of the Oxford comma. It’s called collaborative or experiential learning and it’s a concept the faculty embraces at North Central.
The future of education is moving away from the teacher in the front and the learners at the tables. Part of the excitement of college is working side-by-side with your professors, learning with and from one another.
Whether it’s field work at local archeological digs, a writing and poetry intensive while camping on Beaver Island, or an opportunity to wear those weighters while cleaning up the bear River, it’s experiential learning at its best…at North Central Michigan College.
