Welcome to North Central Michigan College. I am pleased that you will be part of our instructional team. NCMC is committed to delivering a high quality educational experience for our students, and we need you to help us fulfill that promise. You have been selected to be a part of our team because of your skills and expertise in your field. Our students expect a great deal from our full time and adjunct faculty, and it is my hope that you will provide a challenging and stimulating experience for your students. How to be an adjunct

Adjunct faculty are hired on an as-needed basis for specific courses at the college. The number of openings varies each semester, but North Central is always looking for highly-qualified adjunct faculty. To qualify as an adjunct instructor you must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the course. However, Master’s degrees and higher are always preferred.

Before employment, you will be asked to submit:

  • Résumé or CV
  • Completed NCMC Application Form

Upon hire, you will be asked to:

  • Provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Complete a background check consent form

Mailbox: If you teach a class at the Petoskey campus, you will have a mailbox located in the Administration Office.

Syllabus: Must be submitted electronically to your Associate Dean by the end of second week of classes.

Pay Schedule: Adjunct faculty may choose between two different payment schedules: Two pay checks per term, one approximately halfway through the semester and another at the end of the semester. OR One check every two weeks per the regular employee pay period of the college.

Adjunct faculty must notify the payroll clerk in the business office of the college in writing which payment schedule he or she wishes to use by the first day of classes for that semester.
