FRIDAY’S LUNCHEON LECTURE:  THE FUTURE OF NEWSPAPERS

Stanley KendallNewspapers and their future in the fast-changing world of the Internet will be the topic of a Luncheon Lecture at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey this Friday, April 25.  The speaker will be Kendall Stanley, editor of the Petoskey News-Review.

 Although readership of printed newspapers is declining nationwide, newspapers are attracting a growing number of readers to the web versions of their publications.  Ken will explain why “convergence” has become the hot new term in the industry.

Ken is a Harbor Springs native and a graduate of Central Michigan University. He has worked at the News-Review for 29 years.   

Friday’s program takes place at noon in a different place than usual.  It will be held in Room 122 of the admin/classroom building.  Cost to attend is $9 and includes lunch.  Reservations are preferred; call 231-348-6602 or e-mail cmaci@ncmich.edu .
