Who is required to take the COMPASS?

All new, degree-seeking students are required to submit ACT scores or take the COMPASS prior to enrolling at North Central.

The following students may be exempt from the COMPASS:

1. Students who have ACT/SAT or ASSET scores on file at North Central.
2. Guest Students from other colleges.
3. Students who have already earned an Associate Degree or higher.
4. Students who have on file at North Central proof of 15 or more transfer credit hours that include English and math credits, and 2.0 or higher GPA.
5. Students who are only interested in pursuing 'personal interest' coursework, not taking math or English.

Students must provide documentation to the Director of Learning Support Services to qualify for any of these exemptions.
