The North Central Michigan College campus includes:
The Administration/Classroom Building (AD/CL) houses classrooms, faculty offices, academic computer labs, an interactive TV room, administrative offices, business office, regional offices for several four-year universities, the president's office, marketing and NCMC Foundation and alumni offices.
Chemistry and Science Buildings contain classrooms, labs and faculty offices for biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy and other areas of science are housed in the Chemistry and Science buildings. A greenhouse attached to the Science building is used for experiments and classroom activities.
Early Childhood Education Building houses Early Childhood Education classrooms. Formerly this was the Distance Learning Center.
Technology Center houses labs and classrooms for computer and technical training in areas such as AutoCAD, computer technologies, and computer network technologies.
Library and Academic Technologies (LAT) offers a wide variety of high-technology services for students,staff and the community. They include traditional and on-line library services, state-of-the-art videoconferencing, dial-up Internet access, Blackboard on-line courses facilitated by North Central faculty, multi-media production and "Smart Classroom" technology used by North Central faculty and students. Student Center houses all student services functions, including admissions, financial aid, registration, counseling and student records are located in the lower level of the Student Center. The Student Center also houses the Cafeteria.
Student and Community Resource Center (SCRC) houses a 71,000 square foot multipurpose gymnasium designed for a variety of recreation and physical education activities. Locker rooms with showers are open to anyone using the facilities. Upstairs, an exercise facility is equipped with weight training and exercise equipment.
The SCRC also houses the College Store, Learning Support Services which has open computer labs, a tutoring center, assessment and testing center and study areas.
The Residence Hall offers on-campus living for up to 150 students. Each room in the residence hall has a cable TV hook-up and a drop box for Internet access. The lobby has a big screen TV, fireplace, and a staffed reception desk.
The Institute for Business and Industry Training (IBIT) is a division of North Central created to respond to the needs of area businesses. IBIT offers non-credit job skills training tailored to meet individual needs. For information call Tom Nathe at 231.348.6613.
The Natural Area is located along the south edge of campus. The Natural Area has over 200 acres of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. It is also used for many of the College's lab science courses. The Natural Area has a spring, a stretch of the Bear River, meadows, marshes and forest.
Conference Facilities are available in the Library Conference Rooms1 &2, the SCRC and the Student Center Rooms 3 &4.
