Work-Based Learning

Students enrolling in Work Based Learning must meet with the Work Based Learning Coordinator to define their individual needs based on their program of study. For more information call the Work Based Learning Office at 348-6812.

WBL 102 WORK BASED LEARNING 1-4(0-16)

Students in this course are placed in a business or industry setting that is directly related to their chosen career. Students will participate in the work environment at a preliminary level. Level of involvement will depend on individual student ability and knowledge. Students are not responsible for goals of the organization. In addition to specific requirements related to that experience, students are required to complete written assessments and evaluations of the experience as it relates to their program. Two hours of classroom prep are included before starting the WBL experience. Prerequisites are determined by the curriculum in which the student is enrolled. See the WBL Coordinator for a complete list. Students looking for co-op experience may enroll in this course. A
background check and a physical exam may be required by some employers. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

WBL 201 WORK BASED LEARNING 1-4(0-16)

Students in this course are placed in a business or industry setting that is directly related to their chosen career. This course is designed to be a capstone experience. Students work directly with the employer/mentor, actually assisting in the completion of productivity goals. The student participates as a member of a work team. In addition to specific requirements related to that experience, students are required to complete written assessments and evaluation of the experience as it relates to their program. Two hours of classroom prep are included before starting the WBL experience. Prerequisites are determined by the curriculum in which the student is enrolled.
