LUNCHEON LECTURE EXAMINES FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION

North Central Michigan College’s November 15 Luncheon Lecture will examine the FIRST Robotics program, an international competition involving hands-on robotics challenges for students in grades K-12.  The lecture will be held in the Library Conference Center on the Petoskey campus. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.

FIRST Robotics combines the excitement of sports with the rigors of science, technology, engineering and math.  Considered by participants as the ultimate sport for the mind, high school team members describe FIRST as “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”  Petoskey High School physics teacher Tom Ochs and his students will explain the many academic and social benefits of this competition and share how they run their team like a business.

Reservations are required.  Call 231-348-6600 or email luncheonlectures@ncmich.edu to reserve your place at the table.  Cost is $12 (cash or check only – at door) and includes lunch.
