Timberwolves Thrive is a FREE five-week summer program designed to provide recent high school graduates and adult learners with the opportunity to improve English & math skills, learn study strategies, connect with NCMC staff, and be college-ready by Fall 2024.

The Timberwolves Thrive program runs Monday – Thursday, July 15 – August 15, at North Central’s Gaylord Center: 620 E. 5th Street, Gaylord, MI 49735.

*Students who complete the course, register for fall classes at NCMC, and stay enrolled get to keep the laptop — a $1,000 value! 

How much does it cost?

Timberwolves Thrive is completely FREE, with no cost for tuition, food, or textbooks. 

Who is eligible to participate?

Any student who is new to college in the Fall of 2024 and has earned a high school diploma or GED is eligible to participate. If students have successfully completed either college-level English or math course, they are unfortunately not eligible for the Summer On Track program. 

How do I register?

Please register online in advance so that sufficient resources are available. Space is limited.

No, the program is free. Students will be supplied with everything they need to complete the course. 

The State of Michigan has designated funding to help support new students planning to attend college in the fall of 2024. North Central’s Timberwolves Thrive program is designed to help you become college-ready by becoming familiar with our campus, connecting with support services, ensuring help with the financial aid process, improving your English & math skills, and providing you with helpful materials and supplies. 

Any student who is new to college in the Fall of 2024 and has earned a high school diploma or GED is eligible to participate. If students have successfully completed either college-level English or math course, they are unfortunately not eligible for the Summer On Track program.

To be eligible to receive awards, students must complete the entire program, which includes online assignments.
