PROSPECTIVE ADJUNCT INSTRUCTORS
Thank you for your interest in teaching for North Central! Our adjunct faculty pool is quite large, over 200 individuals, teaching almost 60% of the available courses each semester. This diverse group of people bring a tremendous amount of personal and professional experience into the classroom, which is invaluable to our students. The number of openings varies each semester; however, North Central is always looking for highly-qualified adjunct faculty.
"North Central's part-time adjunct instructors have both the college degrees and real-world experience
our students are looking for."
North Central Michigan College's adjunct faculty members are hired on an as-needed basis for specific courses at the College. As our needs for additional adjunct faculty are identified, the positions are posted on our website and in local papers. Resume's and applications are reviewed at that time.
Adjunct faculty instructors, teaching general education courses or other non-occupational courses, must hold a master’s degree or higher in the discipline or subfield in order to qualify to teach at North Central. If a faculty member holds a master’s degree or higher in a discipline or subfield other than that in which they are teaching, that faculty member should have completed a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach.
Adjunct faculty teaching in career and technical education, college-level certificate and associate’s degree programs should hold a bachelor’s degree in the field and/or a combination of education, training and tested experience.
