The Food Service Baker will work independently to provide all (from scratch) baked goods as directed by the Director of Food Service and Conference Center.  The expectation will be quality baked goods in an economical fashion, in a timely manner.

Part-time Food Supervisor Set Up

  3. Supervisory experience
  4. ServSafe Certification or certifiable within 6 months

Physical Demands:

  • Required to lift 25 pounds
  • Stand during work shift, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Speak to customers with proper grammar and in a pleasant manner.
  • Required to taste and/or smell

The Food Service Set-Up Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of food service staff, particularly in the area of coordinating room set ups for functions.  Responsible for studying event schedules in advance and maintaining communication with Director and Assistant to the Director of Food Service and Conference Center to arrange chair/table/equipment set up and tear down, and communicating those schedules to student employees.

Provides management and direction to all assigned activities within the academic division.  Supervises, evaluates, recognizes, disciplines and develops departmental faculty and staff in accordance with North Central Michigan College’s objectives, goals, policies, procedures and practices.  Conducts self in a professional manner promoting statesmanship with subordinate employees, other managers, faculty and other employees, students, local community members, and related representatives and visitors.

Master of Arts in College Student Personnel or related discipline.  Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in higher education or related field.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills and commitment to teamwork.  Knowledge of dual enrollment and early college programs.  Understanding of and commitment to the mission of community colleges.  Computer experience necessary. 

Responsible for managing the key student services functions of outreach/ recruitment, new student orientation, dual enrollment, early college partnership programs, student engagement, and retention.  Works with faculty, students and internal/ external partners to develop high-impact experiences that encourage student development, engagement and success.
