Minimum
Qualifications:

Associate’s degree with emphasis on facilities operation and management preferred.
-OR-
Five (5) years of experience in management of educational, commercial, or institutional building maintenance, custodial operations, grounds maintenance, safety and security.
-AND-
Possess and Maintain a Valid Michigan Driver’s License

General Description:

The Assistant to the Director of Physical Plant – Maintenance, is responsible for the short and long-term maintenance of all Buildings, Grounds, and Fleet Vehicles owned by North Central Michigan College. They  will develop and execute an approved schedule of day to day and ongoing maintenance for buildings, grounds,  and associated equipment. The Assistant to the Director of the Physical Plant - Maintenance is a “Working  Maintenance Technician” with the added duties of supervising the Maintenance staff and managing the work  load.

Qualifications:

Associate Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.  One (1) to three (3) years of experience in healthcare or higher education. Demonstrated skills in word processing and working knowledge of a variety of software office packages including those associated with the college’s main information database, electronic spreadsheets, databases, and communications tools.  Strong interpersonal and team skills with sensitivity to a diverse student population. Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy with students, faculty, and outside organizational representatives.  Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  Demonstrated Initiative and problem solving skills.

General Description:

Performs a variety of secretarial/clerical/word processing tasks in support of the Associate Dean of Nursing, Allied Health and Science.

General Description:

Provides management and direction for all activities and programs of nursing, allied health, and science in accordance with institutional policies and procedures and the guidelines as established and maintained by the Michigan Board of Nursing and other oversight agencies.

General Description:

Provides management and direction to all assigned activities within the academic division.  Supervises, evaluates, recognizes, disciplines and develops departmental faculty and staff in accordance with North Central Michigan College’s objectives, goals, policies, procedures and practices.  Conducts self in a professional manner promoting statesmanship with subordinate employees, other managers, faculty and other employees, students, local community members, and related representatives and visitors.
