General Description:

The Assistant Dean for Instructional Technology leads, manages, and supports  the use of technology in North Central’s instructional program.  The Assistant Dean reports to the  Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success and works closely with Associate Deans and  faculty to deploy the College’s learning management systems (LMS), online instruction, classroom
technology, and other tools for teaching and learning.  The Assistant Dean is responsible for the  development and stewardship of the Instructional Technology budget and may supervise part-time
and full-time staff. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s in Information Technology Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Five to seven years of experience in higher education or related field.
  3. Three years of related experience in educational technology, computer programming, technology training or similar work setting.
  4. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  5. Experience with learning management systems and instructional software.
  6. Experience working with Microsoft Office or equivalent applications
  7. Teaching/training experience, preferably in online or hybrid/blended delivery modalities.
  8. This position may include occasional hours outside of normal business hours.

Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in an appropriate field from an accredited institution preferred. At least three (3) years of full-time administrative experience in a post-secondary institution and at least three (3) years of teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.  Community college teaching experience is strongly preferred.  Strong interpersonal skills which encourage cross departmental collaboration within the college and will foster and maintain relationships in the communities we serve. Demonstrated ability to lead others in developing a dynamic 21st century curriculum. Ability to lead, guide and coach full-time faculty, adjunct faculty and staff as needed, including guiding faculty in their professional development. 
Demonstrated success in assessment and grant writing.

 Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success is responsible for leading the college’s total instructional activity including: strategic planning and budgeting in the instructional area; credit and non-credit curriculum planning, development, and review; supervision and assessment of faculty and staff; instructional schedule building; business and industry training; library, university center administration, relationships with K-12 partners, peer and senior institutions and off-campus instructional programming.
