Required

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems (or related field), and two (2) years of work experience in CIS, or equivalent combination of related experience and education. Evidence of teaching competence in CIS or closely related field.  Ability to teach web application development, mobile application development, and database administration utilizing current and emerging technologies, including open-source languages and platforms. Knowledge of adult learning theory, to include pedagogical and assessment techniques appropriate to the content area. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of, and commitment to, the community college mission.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience teaching in a CIS program in a community college setting. Ability to contribute curricular leadership in areas of web application development, mobile application development, and database administration preferred. Ability to teach IT risk management, network security, and information assurance also desired. Ability to teach courses in the area of new media and communication technologies, specifically new and emerging social media tools and web apps preferred. Ability to support instruction in digital animation, video editing, graphics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. Demonstrated interest in seeking out new and emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies to incorporate in the classroom. Evidence of continuing professional development and involvement in professional organizations. Familiarity with institutional effectiveness planning and retention issues within a community college environment.

M.F.A., or Master’s Degree in Digital Media, Digital Arts, Multimedia, or Graphic Design. Evidence of teaching competence in digital arts and/or computer design applications.  Ability to teach courses utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, as well as courses utilizing current digital animation, video editing, and graphics software. Demonstrable interest in the exploration and use of new media, to include primarily multimedia and the web.  Ability to contribute coursework and curricular leadership in the area of new media and communication technologies. Ability to teach students to critically evaluate the role and uses of new web and app-based communication technologies, as well as produce aesthetic and effective graphic user interfaces utilizing industry standard usability concepts. Knowledge of general requirements and impacts of digital media on IT systems.  Knowledge of adult learning theory, to include pedagogical and assessment techniques appropriate to digital art and computer-aided design instruction.  Excellent written and oral communications skills.  Knowledge of and commitment to the community college mission.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Political Science or terminal degree in Public Policy, with commitment to instruction in the community college setting.  Expertise in international relations; competency in comparative politics also desirable.  Interest and ability to offer online courses, as needed.  Recent experience in teaching political science in a community college setting.  Experience developing or administering an international studies program.  Evidence of continuing professional development.  Activity in professional organizations.
Familiarity with institutional effectiveness planning and retention issues within a community college environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master Degree in Nursing, current Michigan nursing license, three (3) years experience teaching nursing including clinical and classroom instruction, strong knowledge background in Medical-Surgical Nursing, three (3) years full-time clinical experience with direct patient contact, back ground knowledge of classroom and student assessment, ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience in Community College or University settings. Critical care patient experience. Experience with simulation; utilizing high-fidelity nursing education, curriculum development experience, familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques, and on-line teaching experience. Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments in regional clinical sites, awareness of current trends/issues related to the profession, and active in community and professional organizations.
