Construction Updates & Project Milestones

August 21, 2025:
The placement of structural steel columns and beams provides the first glimpse of the new Martin Jahn Technology Center.

August 8—13:
Four trailers arrive on campus to serve as temporary classroom and faculty/staff office spaces. The trailers occupy space in the Library parking lot, minimizing impact on both student and community parking while keeping construction staging and equipment areas separate and safe.

May 2025:
Construction on the Martin Jahn Technology Center and Phase II of the Health Education and Science Center begins immediately after the Winter 2025 semester concludes.

March 25, 2025 (approx.):
Demo phase will conclude
 
March 3, 2025 (approx.):
Tech building demo
It will take only one day to knock the building down (will confirm the exact date when available, and multiple days to clear the debris.  Then, the concrete slab will be removed followed by excavation and backfill.
 
February 17, 2025:
Interior demo of the Tech building begins.
Utility work in the in and around the tunnel/building areas will happen 2/17 to 2/28. This will include Tree protection.
 
February 14, 2025:
Construction officially begins
The gate to the parking areas behind Tech and HESC will be locked with no access until June 2026.
 
November 4, 2024:
Parking lot #7 closed to all

Effective the week of November 4, 2024, the small lot behind the Technology Center near the baseball fields will be closed to all. An alternative is the lot behind the SCRC.  It will be open for the entire construction period.

June 17, 2024:
Parking lot #7 closed to the public

Parking lot #7, the small lot behind the Technology Building near the baseball fields, will be closed to the public. It is being used as a staging area beginning June 17, 2024, through the duration of the CATEE project.
