North Central Michigan College (NCMC) will host a series of free information sessions and campus events this fall to help prospective students and their families explore academic programs, career pathways and financial aid opportunities.
Events will cover nursing, technology and skilled trades, Michigan Reconnect scholarships, financial aid and campus life. Attendees will have opportunities to connect with college faculty and staff, ask questions and learn more about their options at North Central.

Michigan Reconnect Information Sessions
Adults ages 21 and older interested in starting or completing an associate degree or eligible skills certificate can learn more about Michigan Reconnect during two virtual information sessions:
- Tuesday, Oct. 20, at noon
- Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m.
Michigan Reconnect provides tuition-free education for eligible Emmet County residents and reduced tuition for eligible students living outside the county. The sessions will cover scholarship eligibility, application requirements and steps to enroll.
Registration is required. Registered participants will receive a link to join the virtual session the day before the event.
Nursing Information Sessions
Students considering a career in nursing can explore NCMC's licensed practical nursing (LPN), LPN-to-RN bridge, and registered nursing (RN) pathways during two information sessions:
- Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 4— 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5— 6 p.m.
Attendees will learn about program options, timelines, clinical experiences and admissions requirements, with opportunities to ask questions and understand the next steps to apply.
FAFSA Drop-In Night
Prospective students and families can get help navigating the financial aid process during FAFSA Drop-In Night on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m.
NCMC's Financial Aid team will provide assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and answer questions about grants, scholarships and other financial aid options.
Participants should create their StudentAid.gov accounts in advance and bring their login information, Social Security numbers (if applicable), and relevant financial records. Dependent students should attend with a parent or other required FAFSA contributor when possible.
Explore Tech & Trades Open House
Students and families interested in technical and skilled-trades careers can explore NCMC's programs during the Explore Tech & Trades Open House on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5— 7 p.m. in the college's new Martin Jahn Technology Center.
Visitors can tour the facility, watch demonstrations, and connect with faculty to learn about programs and career opportunities in manufacturing, welding, robotics and automation, and related technical fields.
Representatives from NCMC's Workforce and Continuing Education team will also be available to discuss short-term Fast Track training options, including welding, electrical, heating and carpentry.
Campus Visit Day
High school students and their families are invited to explore North Central during Campus Visit Day on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m.— 1 p.m. on the Petoskey campus.
Visitors can tour campus, explore academic programs, and learn about student resources, support services and campus life. Admissions staff will also be available to answer questions and help students prepare for their next steps.
