Earlier this evening, Governor Whitmer announced further action to address the surge of COVID-19 infections throughout the state.  These measures, which are codified via Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) emergency order, will take effect Wednesday, November 18, and will remain in effect through Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

The updated order on masking and gathering restrictions will require all colleges and universities to return to the use of remote instructional methods during this three-week period.  The only exceptions being made to this mandate are the training of law enforcement, corrections officers, medical personnel, and first responders to the extent that this training cannot be done remotely.  At this time, there are no exceptions for labs or other hands-on courses that do not meet this exemption.

North Central will be open per usual, including scheduled face-to-face classes, on Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17.  Please remember to stay home if you are experiencing any possible COVID-19 symptoms, or if you are currently waiting on test results for yourself or for anyone with whom you live.

We are continuing to closely monitor this situation and will communicate further information as more details become available.
