Unfortunately, COVID-19 infection rates have remained elevated in Emmet County throughout November.  Thus, North Central Michigan College will maintain an indoor mask requirement through Monday, January 31, 2022, out of an abundance of caution.  We are extending the requirement by two months to get us through and beyond the year-end holidays.

For the next two months, North Central will continue to require facial coverings in all indoor settings regardless of individuals’ vaccination status, with the exception of team members working in private offices.  Exceptions will be made for individuals granted accommodations through Human Resources.

We’re closely monitoring campus COVID-19 case counts and external parameters to follow a safe path forward as the pandemic continues.

I am heartened that COVID-positive numbers have remained in the low-to-mid single digits per week for the month of November.  Thanks to all for your good effort in masking, social distancing, practicing good hygiene, and staying home when symptomatic.  Your actions are making a positive difference to the benefit of all at the college.

Best wishes for a joyous and healthy holiday season.
