Engineering Program Pathways
North Central offers two engineering program pathways: Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering.
Engineering Technology
An Associate of Science degree with a concentration in Engineering Technology will teach you to use engineering, technology, and science in practical business or industry applications. It will not prepare you for continued study to become a theoretical engineer; rather, it will help you learn to solve industry challenges using the most current science and technology.
Earn stackable, industry-recognized micro-credentials, or complete your associate degree to transfer to complete your bachelor's degree in any engineering specialty.
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering is the application of scientific theories, mathematical methods, and empirical evidence to design, create, and analyze technological solutions cognizant of safety, human factors, physical laws, regulations, practicality, and cost. It is generally considered to consist of the major primary branches of chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
