North Central Michigan College’s Luncheon Lecture will feature Michigan’s state demographer on Friday, October 4.  The program will be held in the Iron Horse Café on the Petoskey campus. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.

Twenty years ago, there were two births for every death in our community.  Today, deaths outnumber births, and many changes are at play both locally and statewide.  If our community’s destiny is tied to our demographics, we need to understand these changes and what they will mean for our future and our families.  Eric Guthrie, state demographer in Michigan’s Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives in the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, will share the numbers to show us how Michigan has changed and where we are likely headed.

Reservations are required.  Call 231-348-6600 or email to reserve your place at the table.  Cost is $12 (cash or check only – at door) and includes lunch.
