LUNCHEON LECTURE FOCUSES ON BLUES GENRE
North Central Michigan College’s February 14 Luncheon Lecture will focus on the blues, a musical genre that began in the Deep South in the 19th century. The lecture will be held in the Library Conference Center on the Petoskey campus. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.
Attorney Stuart Fenton is such a big fan that he hosted a weekly four-hour blues show on a Kalamazoo radio station for several years. He will give a brief overview of some of the most influential blues artists from the very beginning through the modern era, sharing samples of many of these artists’ sounds. Fenton will explain how this genre has grown to influence just about every type of modern music.
Reservations are required. Call 231-348-6600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your place at the table. Cost is $12 (cash or check only – at door) and includes lunch.
