North Central Michigan College’s March 20 Luncheon Lecture will focus on our refuse, following the trash from curbside to landfill.  The lecture will be held in the Library Conference Center on the Petoskey campus. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.

Chris Gee runs the landfill in Onaway owned by GFL Environmental Inc. based in Toronto, Canada, that takes all of the trash collected in Emmet County.  Gee will explain what happens to your trash once it’s picked up each week.  He will also share some surprising facts about eagles and how he’s looking at ways to turn some of your waste into electricity.

Reservations are required.  Call 231-348-6600 or email to reserve your place at the table.  Cost is $12 (cash or check only – at door) and includes lunch.
