NORTH CENTRAL’S CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION DIVISION ANNOUNCES SPRING LINEUP

North Central Michigan College’s Corporate and Community Education (CCE) division announces its Spring 2020 workshops and events.

Vines to Wines Viticulture Series

North Central and the Straits Area Grape Growers Association will run a 10-workshop series on grape-growing and winemaking using cold-climate grapes.  The series runs on multiple dates beginning March 5 with a “Home Winemaking” class.  The series includes fieldtrips so participants can get out into the vineyard to learn from experts, a beneficial addition for hobbyists and experienced growers alike.

Most courses will be held in Room 536 of the Student and Community Resource Center on the Petoskey campus.  Participants can register for all 10 workshops in the series or choose individual classes that suit their needs.  Courses are $35 each.  To register, call 231-348-6613 or visit CCE’s ticketing website.

Beekeeping for Beginners

Master beekeepers and members of the Little Traverse Bay Beekeepers Guild Barry Fitzpatrick and Jim Anglewicz will run a three-part series on “Beekeeping for Beginners.”  Fitzpatrick and Anglewicz will share education and insight with participants who are considering starting a hive or who just want to learn more about these amazing creatures.  All workshops will be held in Room 536 of the Student and Community Resource Center on the Petoskey campus:

  • Sunday, March 8 - Beekeeping: What's it all about?
  • Sunday, March 15 - The First Year
  • Sunday, March 22 - A Successful Apiary and its Produce

A generous donation from the Marana Tost Fund makes this three-part series free for attendees, however registration is required.  For more information or to register, call 231-348-6613 or visit CCE’s ticketing website.
