Are there food safety guidelines that the Campus Cupboard follows?

The NCMC food pantry (Campus Cupboard) follows proper guidelines for the food distribution based on current USDA guidelines.  These shelf life guidelines can be found on the USDA website HERE.


Why Does North Central Michigan College have a Campus Cupboard?

Food insecurity is connected with a variety of academic concerns, most of all graduation rates.  In order for our student to succeed, graduate, and focus on their college experience, a Campus Cupboard was created to ease the hunger and insecurity that many college students experience.


What do I do over a holiday break when the campus is closed and locked?

Pick up will not be available whenever the Student Community Resource Center is locked and not open.  If you have an order waiting at the pick-up site the restocking timeframe will be extended to accommodate the holiday or unexpected closings.  If you have an immediate need please refer to our list of local resource. HERE


Can staff and faculty use the Campus Cupboard?

At the present time, the services of the NCMC Campus Cupboard are only available to any currently enrolled NCMC student who is experiencing food insecurity. Please see our Campus Cupboard website HEREfor links of nearby resources including Manna.  If you have specific questions about resources, please email


How is the Campus Cupboard stocked?

The food and personal care products that stock our pantry shelves comes from a variety of sources.  Donations, budgets specific for student support, and campus food drives are our main sources.


What kind of products can I find in the Campus Cupboard?

While food is the main focus, the Campus Cupboard is also regularly stocked with personal care products.

Are there perishable items available at the Campus Cupboard?

As of right now, we are still developing best practices for our campus food pantry, and are therefore unable to accept perishable items.  We hope to extend what we can offer in the future!


How can I get in contact with the North Central Campus Cupboard?

There are two ways to get in contact with the food pantry.  The best option is to email campuscupboard@ncmich.eduor inquiry can be made through Student Services at (231) 348-6605.


How can I help?

You can get involved with the NCMC Campus Cupboard in a few different ways.  The food pantry is supplied through donations from North Central Clubs and organizations, as well as community organizations and individuals.  This requires food drives and donations from students and/or community members.  If you would like to conduct a food drive please contact campuscupboard@ncmich.edufor more information.

 The NCMC Campus Cupboard accepts individual donations as well.  Please view our donation list on the website HERE.  Email campouscupboard@ncmish.eduor call (231) 348-6605 to set up a time to drop off your donations at one of our storage or pick up locations.

You can also volunteer at the NCMC Campus Cupboard.  This will involve various activities depending on what is needed at the time.  Please contact campuscupboard@ncmich.edufor more details on how specifically you or your organization can get involved with distributions and other operations activities.


How do I qualify for the services and what do I need to use the Campus Cupboard?

 Any currently enrolled NCMC student who is experiencing food insecurity qualifies for the services of the North Central Campus Cupboard.  All you need to use the Campus Cupboard is your NCMC Student ID card.  The campus cupboard asks no further questions or takes record of personal information. (The NCMC Campus Cupboard is committed to maintaining your privacy).  Please contact campuscuboard@ncmich.eduif you have any concerns.


How often can I use the Campus Cupboard and how much food can I take each time?

Once every 7 day period orders can be processed for you and your immediate family members.  Quantity limits are determined by family/individual needs and are designed based on product availability and demand.

Where and when can I pick up my order?

After an order is submitted online, you will receive a follow up email from Campus Cupboard indicating the order has been filled and ready for pick up.  Orders that are not picked up after three days from notification will automatically be restock into the Campus Cupboard for redistribution.


Order pick-up is located at the Student Community Resource Center Fitness Administration office.

Hours of operation are:

Monday – Thursday

8:00 AM – 9:00 PM


8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Saturday and Sunday

10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

*All orders submitted after 2:00 PM Friday will be not be filled until Monday and 

will be available for pick-up at the earliest possible time.
