Create your own notebook or sketchbook with a custom cover designed by NCMC Art & Design students to take with you at the end of the workshop! Avid readers, writers, artists, and tinkerers won't want to miss this event.
Using a series of homemade contraptions and a bottle of archival glue, local author and publisher Austin Rowlader will demonstrate how he hand-binds his debut novel, Ordinary Time. During this event, participants will bind their very own notebooks with covers designed by NCMC Art & Design students. While the glue dries, Austin will answer questions about writing, publishing, and the role of hand-bound books in the literary ecosystem.
Austin will also be giving demonstrations of his bookbinding process in the BLC Student Commons on Tuesday, April 2, from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m.
