Mechatronics Instructor (full-time)

Salary is commensurate with experience and according to the Nitaazhitoojik Industrial Training Grant guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Mechatronics or a discipline in the relevant sub-field. Master’s degree in another field, with 18 graduate credit hours within the discipline; OR a BA or BS with concentration or minor in field & 4 years of field work experience; OR an AA, AS, or AAS in teaching field & 8 years field work experience; OR A valid State of Michigan Teaching Credential; AND The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Automated Systems, Electro-mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Robotics Technology, or related field; Experience in System level trouble shooting on an automated cell that includes PLCs, SMC Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electrical Controls, and Motors; Previous teaching or training experience, preferably at the community college level.

General Description:

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to teaching in the Mechatronics program at North Central Michigan College, teaching on campus classes, in addition to teaching dual enrolled students at their local high school using individual Mechatronics trainers in a class to instruct as many as twelve students at a time.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Services or demonstrated capacity to complete such a degree.  Three (3) years of management experience in a Library/Media Center.  Excellent written and oral communications skills.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting faculty in curriculum or instructional design capacity (using “ADDIE” or other rubrics) across multiple learning management platforms.  Experience managing/teaching in a Technology Enabled Active Learning (TEAL) lab.  Experience writing and publishing “LibGuides” in a community college environment.

Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling, current Professional Counselor Certification (LPC), and three (3) years’ experience higher education (community college preferred) or three (3) years counseling experience.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Understanding of student development issues. Commitment to the community college mission, and specifically North Central’s mission: "We provide educational, economic and cultural opportunities for student learning, personal growth and community improvement.”  Strong customer relations skills and commitment to teamwork.  Computer skills necessary: MS Office suite and experience with a Student Information System preferred.  

General Description:

Assists students to establish academic and career goals and an action plan to complete their goals.   Provides non-acute personal counseling services, making referrals as needed.  Works within the Guided Pathways approach.  Assists students with enrollment, to include selection of classes, financial aid, career exploration, and transfer and degree completion strategies. Some evening hours or travel may be required.

Responsible for performing general maintenance and mechanic duties throughout the College’s buildings and grounds.  Assists in developing an ongoing schedule of preventative maintenance for buildings, grounds and associated equipment.

Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Understanding of and commitment to the mission of community colleges.
