Severe Weather Procedures
Tornado Warning has been issued in an area near the College or severe weather has
been spotted near the College:
- Activate appropriate ALERTUS ENS message
- Move students and staff to the designated safe areas (basement or interior hall of
the lower floor)
- Avoid auditoriums, elevators, gymnasiums and similar large rooms
- Stay away from all windows and exterior doors
- Remind Faculty and Staff to take class attendance
- Account for all students
- Remain in a safe area until emergency personnel have issued an all-clear signal
Snow Storm has been issued in an area near the College or severe weather has been

Hot Weather Advisory has been issued:
- The College Incident Commander or designee will notify staff of weather advisory
- Staff will take appropriate actions:
- Limit amount of exposure to direct sun and heat
- Monitor at-risk students
- Provide alternative activities if necessary
